Coral Gables Wedding Photographer

I'm Ramses Garcia, a Miami wedding photographer, and Coral Gables is one of my favorite places to work. If you're getting married here, I'd love to photograph it.

Why Coral Gables

Coral Gables was planned in the 1920s as a Mediterranean-style city, and you can still feel it. Arched loggias, coral rock walls, tiled stairways, banyan-lined streets and old stone entrances all within a few minutes of each other. It's easy to make photographs here that look timeless instead of trendy, which is how I like to work.

It's also practical. Most of the good locations are close together, so on a wedding day we spend our time making photos instead of sitting in traffic.

Coral Gables weddings I've photographed

I've photographed at the Biltmore Hotel more than anywhere else in Coral Gables, and I've written a full Biltmore Hotel wedding photographer guide with photo spots, timeline tips and answers to common questions.

Here are real galleries you can look through:

Popular Coral Gables venues and photo spots

These are places I know well or that couples regularly ask me about. Always check each venue's photography and permit rules before you plan around a spot.

  • The Biltmore Hotel (1200 Anastasia Ave). Opened in 1926, with the tower inspired by the Giralda in Seville. The loggia, the ballroom, the staircases and the lawn with the tower behind you give you a lot of variety in one place.

  • Church of the Little Flower. A Catholic church in Coral Gables that many couples choose for a traditional ceremony. I'm comfortable working quietly inside a church. See my notes on Catholic church wedding photography in Miami.

  • Venetian Pool. A 1923 pool built from a coral rock quarry, with bridges, caves and archways. It's a public pool with its own rules, so photo sessions here need advance planning.

  • Coral Gables Country Club. A Mediterranean-style clubhouse that works for receptions and for portraits around the grounds.

  • Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Lakes, palms and wide open green space for couples who want a garden feel.

  • Coral Gables Museum. A historic building downtown with a clean, architectural look for portraits.

  • Merrick House and the Granada Entrance. Two classic Coral Gables landmarks for a short stop in a portrait session, with old stone and a little street-level history.

  • Hotel Colonnade. A favorite for getting ready and for hosting guests, right near Miracle Mile.

How I work

I photograph weddings the way I'd want mine photographed: natural light when I can get it, real moments first, and portraits that take a few focused minutes instead of an hour.

Before the day, we talk through your timeline and the venue so there are no surprises. On the day, I direct only when it helps and stay out of the way the rest of the time. If it rains, which it does in Miami, we move indoors and the photos are still beautiful. A Coral Gables loggia in the rain is hard to beat.

After the wedding, I edit every photo myself and deliver an online gallery you can share with family. If you want to get comfortable in front of the camera first, an engagement session at your venue is a good way to do it.

Let's talk about your date

If you're planning a Coral Gables wedding, send me your date, your venue and a little about the day you're imagining. I'll let you know if I'm available and which collection makes sense.

Coral Gables wedding photography FAQ

Do you photograph weddings at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables?

Yes. The Biltmore is one of the venues I photograph most. You can see real weddings and engagement sessions there, and my full Biltmore guide covers photo spots and timeline tips.

How many hours of coverage do I need for a Coral Gables wedding?

For a full wedding day with getting ready, a first look, the ceremony, portraits and the reception, I usually recommend at least 8 hours. Smaller weddings can work with less. Tell me about your day and I'll suggest what fits.

What is the best time of day for wedding photos in Coral Gables?

Golden hour, the last hour or so before sunset, is my favorite for portraits outdoors. Covered loggias and arches give soft, even light earlier in the day, which is great for a first look.

Can you photograph an engagement session in Coral Gables?

Yes. I've done sessions at the Biltmore and I'm happy to plan one at another Coral Gables spot. Some locations require permits or have photo rules, so we'll check before the day.

Do you travel outside Coral Gables?

Yes. I'm based in Miami and photograph weddings across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and the rest of Florida, plus destination weddings in New York, New Jersey and beyond.
