Small, intimate and all about the two of you

Courthouse weddings are some of my favorite days to photograph. No pressure, no huge timeline, just the two of you (and maybe a few people you love) saying "I do" in the heart of Miami.

I know how special it is to keep it simple. My wife and I eloped in her home country of Costa Rica, and it's still one of the best days of our lives. I want yours to feel just as easy, and to look timeless and editorial for years to come.

I'm Ramses Garcia, a Miami wedding photographer who loves intimate days. Planning yours at the courthouse? Read my Miami courthouse wedding guide first.

How a Miami Courthouse Elopement Works

  1. Get your marriage license. Apply together, in person, with the Miami-Dade Clerk. Florida residents have a 3-day waiting period unless they complete a premarital course.

  2. Book your ceremony. The Clerk performs ceremonies by appointment, and you can bring guests, flowers and a photographer.

  3. Book your photographer. Send me your date and pick the 90-minute or 3-hour collection.

  4. Say "I do" and celebrate. After the ceremony we head downtown for portraits, and you get an online gallery to share and print.

Courthouse Elopement FAQ

How much does a Miami courthouse elopement photographer cost?

My courthouse elopement collections are $2,000 for 90 minutes of coverage and $3,000 for 3 hours. Destination elopements are quoted based on location.

How much does a courthouse wedding cost in Miami?

The Miami-Dade Clerk currently lists a $30 ceremony fee and an $86 marriage license fee, or $61 with a premarital course. Fees can change, so confirm with the Clerk.

Can I bring a photographer to the courthouse in Miami?

Yes. The Clerk says couples can bring guests, flowers and a photographer to their ceremony.

Is 90 minutes enough for a courthouse elopement?

For most couples, yes. It covers your ceremony and portraits downtown. If you want getting-ready photos, a second location or time with family, the 3-hour collection gives you room to breathe.

Where do we take photos after a Miami courthouse wedding?

The classic columns and steps of downtown Miami's historic courthouse are my favorite, plus downtown streets and a vintage getaway car. With 3 hours, we can add a second spot.
