Voilà Eventos, Medellín

Krystine and Douglas got married at Voilà Eventos in Medellín, Colombia, and I was there as their Medellín wedding photographer. They are good friends of ours, and Colombia is one of my favorite places to shoot. I love the culture and the food, so this Colombia destination wedding was a special one.
Krystine got ready in a white robe with her hair in long waves, and her bridesmaids wore green. Douglas wore a cream dinner jacket. We made portraits on the wooden terrace, beside the pool and among the tropical plants, with the Medellín hills in the distance.
The ceremony was outdoors in the garden, on a wooden deck lined with white flower arrangements and green mountains behind it. It ended with a petal toss, and the kiss under the flying petals is one of my favorite frames from the day.
Brick arches and a vintage Mercedes convertible gave us some of the best portraits. We spent time by the car and the arches, and Krystine and Douglas also posed in front of a big rust-colored door with the cloudy mountains behind them.
For the reception we moved into a room with brick walls and a glass ceiling, with green lights, white flowers on the tables and a white cake with gold details. There were violinists, toasts, and a lot of dancing, from a slow dance in low fog to guests in sparkly capes and gold crowns.
If you're planning a wedding in Medellín, or looking for a destination wedding photographer in Miami who will travel to Colombia, here's what I'd suggest. Leave time for portraits around the brick arches and gardens, and plan your timeline so you have enough light for the outdoor photos before the reception starts.
